Important Trip Information
General Information
All programs at the Peel Children’s Safety Village are approximately an hour and thirty minutes. There is no charge for the program; however the school is responsible for the cost of the bus. The school will be billed directly.
Teachers: If you do not receive confirmation from "First Student", two weeks prior to visit, please contact John at 905-294-5104 ext 655.
- Upon arrival, Officers will split your students into two groups
- There is a maximum of 50 students per session
- Parents and Volunteers are more than welcome to attend, however siblings, and other children are not permitted
- Children should be dressed appropriately for the outside portion of the program, with proper footwear. Outdoor program does not operate in the snow and rain.
- No outside food or drinks are permitted on premise.
- Special information for Grade Three Bicycle Program – In keeping with the Ontario HTA, All students must bring their own bicycle helmet (no skateboard helmets)
- Helmet must be approved by a recognized agency (CSA, ASTM, CPSC, or Snell)
- Must be a proper BICYCLE helmet
- helmets must be in good condition - and not be over 5 years old

We would suggest that teachers print off the attached "Bicycle Helmet Safety Sheet" and have them sent home to the parents prior to the field trip.

Transportation
For the school year 2011-2012, First Student will provide bussing service. Once we receive your signed registration sheet back, we will then book your bus. Any questions regarding bussing should be directed to First Student at 905-294-5104 ext 655.
- Maximum seating capacity for each bus is 65 patrons including adults.
- Bus departure times from the schools are as follows, unless otherwise notified:
- AM Session : 9:15 am
- PM Session: 11:15 am
Chaperone/Student Ratio
Grades ONE and THREE will require a minimum of 1 Chaperone per 5 students. Please ensure that your Chaperones DO NOT bring other children with them that are not part of the class.
Chaperone Involvement
Chaperones will be required to monitor and assist with supervising the outdoor Village activities.
Student Conduct
The appropriate rules of conduct expected at school also apply at the Peel Children's Safety Village. Your visit is expected to be a fun learning experience. Students are to follow safe practices during all activities.
